Frequently asked questions

Everything you're wondering about our free online valuation.

Yes, completely free and with no obligation. You get an estimate straight from your photos without creating an account.
It gives an estimate of the metal value based on the photo, hallmarks and today's spot price. The exact value is set free of charge by our experts using XRF X-ray once we've received the items.
Gold, silver, platinum and palladium in any form – for example jewellery, rings, necklaces, coins, cutlery, dental gold, pocket watches and bars. Broken items and pieces without a hallmark are fine too. The AI usually spots plated items and base metals, but it can miss – send clear photos, ask us, or send the item in for an exact analysis.
Nickel silver contains no silver at all – it's an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc (also known as alpacca or German silver). The difference is in the stamp: real silver has a fineness number such as 830 or 925, often with the Swedish "cat's paw" control mark. Nickel silver has no fineness number and is usually marked "N.S.", "ALP" or "EPNS" instead. Take a close-up of the hallmark and it's easy to tell.
Hallmarks reveal the metal and its purity. On gold the number is parts per thousand of pure gold – 750 = 18K, 585 = 14K. On silver, 925 means sterling (92.5%) and 830 means older utility silver (83%). Platinum is often marked 950, "PT" or "PLAT". Take a close-up of the hallmark and our AI will read it for you.
If you want to sell, you order a free, insured gold envelope. Once our experts have confirmed the value, you get paid quickly via Swish or bank transfer.
